‘Fore I box up all those presents to go underneath the tree, ‘fore I take that one horse open sleigh ride, please remind me, ‘fore I sing familiar songs, ‘bout Santa’s reindeer team, ‘foreI forget what Christmas really means... Tell me the old story that we all should know so well. Tell me how the people longed for Emmanuel. Tell me ‘bout the census and Joseph’s angel dream. Sing me Mary’s song - what Christmas really means. Don’t let me forget the one I love. Don’t let me forget the holy one. Lead me back to where it all began. And, set me on that winding road to Bethlehem. Don’t let me forget the one I love. Don’t let me forget the holy one. Lead me back to where it all began. And, set me on that winding road to Bethlehem. So when we unwrap those presents with our friends and family, don’t forget the greatest gift the world has received. Don’t forget the story ‘bout the coming of God’s son. Don’t forget to spread the news how sin’s been overcome. Don’t let me forget the one I love. Don’t let me forget the holy one. Lead me back to where it all began. And, set me on that winding road to Bethlehem. Yes, set me on that winding road to Bethlehem.

O Come 02:43
O come, O come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here, Until the Son of God appear. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to you, O Israel. O come, O come, O Lord of might, As to Your tribes, on Sinai's height, In ancient times You gave the law In cloud and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to you, O Israel. You've seen us waiting, Throughout the years. You've heard us praying For the Son of God to appear. O come, O branch of Jesse, free Your own from Satan's tyranny; From depths of hell Your people save, And give them victory o'er the grave. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to you, O Israel. For generations... From distant past... 'Til Christmas present Brings Your gift of hope that will last. O come, O come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here, Until the Son of God appear. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to you, O Israel. Shall come to you, O Israel. O Israel. - John Mason Neale (with bridge lyrics by Fugli)

The angel Gabriel from heaven came With wings as drifted snow, with eyes as flame "All hail to thee, O lowly maiden Mary, Most highly favored lady," Gloria! "For know a blessed mother thou shalt be, All generations laud and honor thee, Thy Son shall be Emanuel, by seers foretold Most highly favored lady," Gloria! Then gentle Mary meekly bowed her head "To me be as it pleaseth God," she said, "My soul shall laud and magnify God's holy name." Most highly favored lady. Gloria! Of her, Emanuel, the Christ was born In Bethlehem, all on a Christmas morn And Christian folk throughout the world will ever say: "Most highly favored lady," Gloria! - loose translation of a Basque carol by Sabine Baring-Gould

The stars come out while shepherds watch their sheep. In the town the people are asleep. The moon is shining bright as a child cries in the night, and all the world is Bethlehem tonight. An Angel came to tell us not to fear. In a stable lies an infant mild and dear. "Gloria to God on high," echoes through the sky, and all the world is Bethlehem tonight. The father waits to greet his new born babe, as he breaks into this world he's come to save. And still the Angels sing laud and glory to the king, and all the world is Bethlehem tonight. A mother softly sings her child to sleep. Kings travel far to kneel at his feet. A savior meant for all came as a babe so small, and all the world is Bethlehem tonight. Yes, all the world is Bethlehem tonight.

Light 02:25
The light shines in the darkness, a single candle burning bright. The light shines all around us. We bear testimony to... The light shines in the darkness, a beacon holding back the night. The light shines like a lantern. We bear testimony to... The light shines in the darkness. God sent a Son to be our light. The light shines from a manger. We bear testimony to... The light shines in the darkness, a guiding star to be our light. The light shines, full of wonder. We bear testimony to... The light shines in the darkness, a blazing sun above us bright. The light shines from within us. We bear testimony to... The light shines in the darkness, an ever present guiding sight. The light shines from our Savior. We are testimony to the Light. We are testimony to the Light.

If one small voice can sing a lullaby so sweetly, and just one voice can sing a chorus for a king, then a thousand voices, raised in harmony together, can achieve incredibly amazing things. If two small hands can reach for a mother's comfort, and two strong hands can pound a nail into a tree, then a thousand hands, each helping one another, can feed the hunger that will set the captive free. He was born in humble circumstance so many years ago. The people had waited as the prophecy foretold. Who'd have thought a child would be the secret of God's plan... the love of God incarnate in a man? If three small gifts that were set before a baby represent the gift brought from the greatest to the least, then a thousand gifts, each one of the a treasure, can work for justice, work for mercy, work for peace. The word brought the beginning and will last beyond the end, from the center of creation to creation wrapped in sin. Bout will the people see him as the answer to their prayer, a savior of a world trapped in despair? If one small child can fulfill the word completely, and can grow into the man upon the cross, then a thousand children raising prayers of adoration, from around the world, uniting all the nations in a universal epidemic celebration can tell the world how God claimed victory from loss.

Three Kings 03:27
We Three Kings of Orient are, Bearing gifts we traverse afar, Field and fountain, Moor and mountain, Following yonder Star. Oh, star of wonder, star of light Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light Glorious now behold Him arise, King, and God, and Sacrifice; "Alleluia, Alleluia," Sounds through the earth and skies. Oh, star of wonder, star of light Star with royal beauty bright Westward leading, still proceeding Guide us to thy perfect light - John Henry Hopkins Jr.

Wenceslas 02:25
Good King Wenceslas looked out On the Feast of Stephen When the snow lay round about Deep and crisp and even Brightly shone the moon that night Though the frost was cruel When a poor man came in sight Gathering winter fuel Hither, page, and stand by me, If thou knowst it, telling Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling? Sire, he lives a good league hence, Underneath the mountain Right against the forest fence By Saint Agnes fountain. Bring me flesh and bring me wine Bring me pine logs hither Thou and I shall see him dine When we bear them thither. Page and monarch, forth they went Forth they went together Through the rude winds wild lament And the bitter weather - John Mason Neale

You may have heard about that reindeer with a glowin’ nose, and Santa’s flying sleigh. And that may have served him way back when, but it just won’t do today. Santa needs a swifter ride, and reindeer stink for flight. So Santa rides a dragon now, and he’ll rock your chimney tonight. Once upon a who knows when, ol’ Santa called his elves. He said those toys your making there ain’t gonna move themselves. It’s hard to get around these days with all these planes and satellites. That’s why I need this dragon now, to rock those chimneys right. The elves put down their paint brushes, grabbing hammers and their tongs. They stoked the forge to smelt the ore that had to be made strong. Dragons fly so swiftly that you’ve got to hold on tight... ‘cuz Santa’s got deliveries he’s gonna make tonight. So if you’re looking to the sky tonight, and see a glowing streak Know that Santa’s on the job, with an engine that’s unique. And anything that’s in his way, like clouds or birds or kites will be consumed by dragon flames, and burn into the night. Yes Santa’s got a ride that’s hot. Like a streak, he’s out of site. Ol’ Santa rides a dragon now, and he’ll rock your chimney tonight.

Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho 'twas the night before, the night before, the night before Christmas. Children's eyes were twinkling, but something was amiss. Santa's sleigh was stuck that day... grounded by the TSA. So, it's raise the sails, anchors away with Pirate Santa Karl they say. Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho 'twas the night before, the night before, when ne'er a reindeer flew, and Karl's ship took to the skies with his all elven crew. In the hold were toys untold with just a touch of magic gold... All seven seas and skies patrolled, or so the tale has oft' been told. Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho Ho Ho Ho. Yo Ho Ho , Yo Ho Ho Yo Ho 'twas the night before, the night before, when ne'er a chimney shook. For a pirate Santa never sets his ship upon a roof. Instead he rows the water flows, up through yer plumbin', down below. Then pull the chain, and out he goes with a Merry Christmas... Yo Ho Ho.

Ever wonder how ol’ Santa knows ‘bout everything you do? Forget that Elf sittin’ on your shelf, ‘cause that ain’t Santa’s crew See, the Man in Red is the department head of an info phishing team, with lots and lots of Goblins watching your computer screen. Now Sauron, Vecna, and Voldemort, can’t hide their scrying eyes, but Santa’s got a network made of IP super spies. You’ll never know when they’re taking notes, so pay attention to how the adds you see on online sites are tailored just for you. With a Ho, Ho, Ho, the shoppers go, and Santa’s Goblins have to know everything you like to do, so they can sell it back to you. So don’t you fear ol’ Santa’s team as they keep tabs on you. They already have your numbers, so there’s nothing you can do. The Elves may be the toymakers for those who like to play,
but the Goblins have your data, and that never goes away. With a Ho, Ho, Ho, the shoppers go, and Santa’s Goblins have to know everything you like to do, so they can sell it back to you. With a Ho, Ho, Ho, the shoppers go, and Santa’s Goblins have to know everything you like to do, so they can sell it back to you. so they can sell it back to you.

At the top of the world, beneath the northern lights, Lives a man who comes on Christmas night. With the help of elves he packs his sleigh of toys That he brings to all the good girls and boys. But, on the very next day, there's still war and injustice. People run around sayin' that it's just us... That life is just a race, and there's no redeeming grace. Joy is hidden by the noise of all the shiny toys. What we need is hope, not a dolly or a tractor. What we need is peace, not a nuclear reactor. What we need is love in a package from above. Saint Nicholas, please bring us Jesus for Christmas. Well all is calm, and all is bright. He comes to us on Christmas night. You won't find him underneath a tree. Instead, he lives in you and me. Saint Nicholas,we're askin' for Jesus this Christmas. He's everything we need with the usual fuss. He's not in any store. You won't find him in a drawer. There's no replacement parts, 'cause he's living in our hearts. What we need is hope, not a dolly or a tractor. What we need is peace, not another factory. What we need is love in a package from above. Saint Nicholas, please bring us Jesus for Christmas. When the night has come, and the season's gone, He lives in us the whole year long. When all the toys are put away, Jesus' love is here to stay. Saint Nicholas,we're askin' for Jesus this Christmas. He's everything we need with the usual fuss. He's not in any store. You won't find him in a drawer. There's no replacement parts, 'cause he's living in our hearts. What we need is hope, not a dolly or a tractor. What we need is peace, not a politician actor. What we need is love in a package from above. Saint Nicholas, please bring us Jesus for Christmas.

about

Travel into Christmas with Fugli, and be transported simultaneously into scripture, and not. In this world of secular commercialism, Fugli takes on the exploitation of icons like Santa Clause, and spiritually empty song traditions, juxtaposing them with many actual spiritual images and metaphors from antiquity in an effort to point us back to the true meaning of the holy day...

... and have a little fun in the process. The Light Shines On!
